Reporting Relationship: To the Pastor
Status of Job: Part time, 20 hours per week
Salary: $20 per hour
Job Summary: To oversee the general operation of the before and after school program (Sycamore Tree locate at The F.S. Edmonds Elementary School, 8025 Thouron Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19150, including finances, personnel, record keeping and the program planning.
Job Requirements: The candidate for the position of Director of Sycamore Tree should have at least 3 years of experience of working and or supervising children in an educational setting. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in education. Candidate should have administrative experience in running a before and after care program. Current FBI, Pennsylvania State Police, and Department of Public Welfare criminal and child abuse clearances are required. Candidate should be knowledgeable in handling state subsidies (CCIS).
Core Duties:
1. In consultation with the Pastor and or a member from Personnel committee hire, evaluate, and if necessary discipline or dismiss staff members.
2. Once a month review and plan for program objectives and activities, including the education components.
3. Ensure that all staff has current criminal abuse background clearance and FBI fingerprints clearances.
4. Organize and direct staff training sessions, including safety and First aid training which would include CPR training and continue program planning.
5. Director is responsible for keeping contact with agencies that provide subsidies and making sure all agency subsidies are filed properly.
6. Accept and record payments.
7. Prepare weekly and monthly Income reports.
8. Hold monthly staff meetings.
9. All incidents must be reported immediately in writing and filed accordingly.
10. Make sure Sycamore Tree is in compliance for annual state inspection.
11. Review children’s files quarterly to make sure they are up-to-date.
12. Meet with the Sycamore Tree Advisory Committee on a monthly basis and provide a monthly report of activities and finances.
13. Meet with parents and the Pastor when specific needs exist or when extreme disciplinary action is required for a child.
14. Foster a working relationship with the Principal and the Community and School Liaison at of F.S. Edmonds Elementary School.

Airy volunteer mentors!Students Run Philly Style is a free youth mentoring program that combines long-distance running with goal setting and leadership development. Mentors commit to one day/week of running with a team of Philadelphia students to train side-by-side for distance races like the Broad Street Run and Philadelphia Marathon. Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church (BMPC) is seeking a Youth Ministry Intern for the 2018-2019 academic year. BMPC is a thriving progressive congregation of the PCUSA with an actively inclusive youth ministry that connects, engages, and equips young people to discover and live out the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Intern Responsibilities include leading the Youth Band in Sunday Morning Youth Gatherings, preaching & leading worship in multiple contexts (traditional and contemporary), facilitating theological education retreats, co-facilitating a student leadership team, and developing life-giving pastoral relationships with the youth who call BMPC home.
Theological reflection on the practice of ministry is an essential part of the field education experience at BMPC. The educational component of the internship is unique in that it is primarily focused on developing specialized skills, theological resources and practical experiences which can help future pastors build thriving youth ministries. Interns also have opportunities to explore the other ministry areas that provide for the faith formation of the entire congregation.
Strong applicants will have vocal performance experience, the ability to play a musical instrument (piano or guitar is preferred), experience leading worship in multiple contexts and a passion for youth ministry.

The Appalachia Service Project, Inc. is seeking a Summer Chaplain. The Chaplain travels within the five-state region of West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kentucky in which ASP hosts their summer youth volunteer program. Chaplains are responsible to the Director of Spiritual Programs. Chaplains provide spiritual consultation and support to summer staff and partners in service, programming assistance, and input on faith-related training sessions. Chaplains also complete miscellaneous administrative duties related to ASP’s spiritual components in coordination with the Ministries Department, summer center staffs, and the Director of Spiritual Programs. In most placements, Chaplains can expect significant amounts of travel and irregular hours, including many nights and some weekends. Chaplains work with the Director of Spiritual Programs and the Ministries Department to create workable schedules which will change week to week. Travel and overnights will vary based on a number of factors based on placements and proximity to centers.
