ULS Email Accounts

Email accounts

All students will need a ULS.edu email account to access student resources such as Canvas, Henry and other internal systems as well as to receive seminary communications.  Newly admitted students will receive information on how to request an account after they had committed to the seminary. Non-degree students will receive this information when they have been registered for classes by the registrar.

Email Settings

Please review these setting before contacting the IT Department.  If you are experiencing problems please email IT at ITHelp@ULS.edu from an alternate email address.  Be sure to include the nature of your problem, your name, primary campus, ULS email address and a phone number we may reach you at.  If you have no other means of email please call 717-338-3037 and provide the same information.

Password Changes and Complexity Policy

You can now change your password using web mail.  Log into https://portal.office.com and click on the Settings icon (the gear in the top right side of the window near your name).  Under Settings select Password and follow the instructions.

We also recommend you set up an alternate contact method that will allow you to reset your password on your own should you forget it.  This will allow you to reset a forgotten password without having to contact IT. To do this click on this link and follow the directions.

Please note that for domain users, changing your email password will also change your domain login to your computer.  (This only affects faculty and staff at the Gettysburg campus currently.)

All user created passwords must meet the following criteria:

  • Not contain the user’s account name or parts of the user’s full name that exceed two consecutive characters
  • Be at least six characters in length
  • Contain characters from each of these four categories:
  • English uppercase characters (A through Z)
  • English lowercase characters (a through z)
  • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
  • Non-alphabetic characters (for example, !, $, #, %)

Webmail

Webmail on the new system will be accessible at https://portal.office.com/ . You will log in with your full ULS.edu email address and password.  Please note that currently the self service password changes are not available, please contact the IT Department if you require a password change or reset.
